Helping Aunty Social, Get Social
Liz became the bringer of all things social-media-ery on 1st June 2011 in Blackpool, in support of Aunty Social's "Connected" event. The first of what plans to be a series of social media workshops for primarily the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector in the area.
As a ‘Social Media Surgeon" for the evening, Liz helped representatives from Streetlife Blackpool - http://www.streetlife-blackpool.co.uk (a drop in centre and support agency for homeless young people) and Access Lancashire (Disability Information & Support Services) - http://www.disabilityinformationsupport.co.uk get to grips with the ins and outs of facebook, twitter and foursquare, helping to utilise these free services, to help engage more service users to their projects and get their message across to a wider audience.
Liz really enjoyed the evening and hopes that in some small way the advice will be helpful for all those organisations in attendance, to make a different to the people they work with.
