Talk - Liz brings Sound Toys to #geekupthetower
Liz was recently asked to speak at the newly established Blackpool Geekup, to help support and increase the number of females at Geekup events. Honoured to be invited, Liz decided to go for a more unusual talk, that would be interesting for newbies to technology and proud geeks and nerd alike.
The focus of the talk is on Sound Toys. A bit of history and what on earth they actually are, then a breakdown of both online and software based programmes that fall under the banner of SoundToys.
Using SoundToys is quite geeky, and might sound technical (and is if you want to build your own) but really it only requires giving the sound a physical action to put a handle on the sound.
Liz will also take this opportunity to help promote the new group for women in STEM in and around Lancashire, Plug-In-Lancashire and help promote the GeekUp Blackpool to more females in the area.
A Geekup is a "GeekUp is a community of web designers, web developers, and other tech-minded folk from the UK. It's a grassroots knowledge sharing and networking social for folks involved or interested in the web and technology industry."
